What to do when you don't know what to do
Do something. Anything.
Four years ago, I decided I wanted to be a writer. There was only one problem. I could only write at a sixth-grade level.
I sent dozens of e-mails to editors and bloggers asking for an opportunity to contribute my work. Not one single response. I decided to start anyway.
I knew the only way for me to get better was practice, publish, fail, rinse & repeat. That’s what I did for two years on my personal blog until I got my first opportunity to contribute one of my articles.
Not only did starting help me accomplish my goal, it has also provided many relationships, business opportunities as well as personal growth for me.
Now, I enjoy doing work that I love and believe in, contributing my writing to multiple publications, speaking both locally and nationally and training leaders to grow their business and reduce their stress. And to think it has all grown from the willingness to write that first awful blog post.
If you want something more out of life, Start.
The finish line is always predicated by the starting line.
