Many people think leadership is something you do to people who are below you. It's not.

Leadership is something that you do FOR everyone around you.

You don't need a title or authority to be a leader.

If you desire to demonstrate true authentic leadership, here are a few things to consider:

Be genuinely interested in other people.

Be deliberate in specific with your appreciation.

Take time to smile and look other people in the eye.

Always work in the best interest of the other person.

Never argue. Even if you win you've lost.

Ask more questions.

Instead of giving answers, ask more questions to help the other person have their own ideas.

Whenever possible, give the credit away and always accept the blame.

Sleep. You can't be a great leader if you're tired, worn-out, and irritable.

Don't just learn for yourself. Read books so that you can share your learning with other people. Make personal development a team sport.

If you would like to lead others first lead yourself well. Live up to the standard you except in other people.

Don't expect people to live up to your standard.

Give grace freely in every situation.

These are just a few of the things to consider if you want to consistently demonstrate leadership in your life.
