This is why your mentorship program is failing

It seems like everywhere I go there's a new or different mentorship program. Almost all of them have one thing in common, they're worthless.

I often wonder why there is such a focus on mentorship and virtually no focus on menteeship.

Knowing how to teach is not nearly as valuable as knowing how to learn.

The reason mentorship programs fail isn't because the mentors are bad, it's because the people being mentored don't know how to learn.

What would happen if you focused on helping your people understand how to ask questions, learn from other people and how to take accountability for their own development.

Maybe you would find that they don't need a mentorship program at all, maybe they need a leader to show them what it looks like to possess the spirit of a mentee

Are you willing to be that leader?
